Following the controversy surrounding the alteration of the image of a woman researcher on the new, polymer Canadian $100 bill on the grounds that she looked “too Asian,” the Bank of Canada issued a statement saying its policies are to “avoid depicting any particular ethnic group.” Of course the Bank of Canada did not explain, exactly, how that might be physically possible.
